"It isn't kind to cultivate a friendship just so one will have an audience"
Once Lyndsay's fame peaked she seemed addicted to the spotlight and soon realized the best way to stay in the tabloids was to befriend the ones that were in them. In 2007, the paprazzi went crazy over Lindsay and Paris Hilton becoming BFFs and almost exploded when they say Lindsay, Paris, and Britney Spears in the same car: 
Around the time she got integrated into the hollywood lifestyle with her new friends, Lyndsay began to be photographed more and more during the late hours of the night. Still underage, Lyndsay was seen coming out of clubs with Paris after last call. She also became friends with Nicole Richie and they both started looking dangerously thin as if they had been competing in a dieting competition with each other
It was not long before her new celebrity friends started to turn on her. Who could forget Paris Hilton and Brandon Davis' infamous firecrotch proclamation

I think Lindsay was introduced to the drug scene in Hollywood by people like Paris. Moving to LA was probably what sent her over the edge because apparently people can be very superficial and very drug addicted in Hollywood. I really believe that it must be hard to be Lindsay sometimes. How do you know who is your real friend or if they are just using you for money or fame?
